Experience what our acting classes are all about in a FREE workshop hosted by Acorn’s Producing Director Michael Levine. Whether you are curious to know how an actor thinks or are wondering if an actor’s life is for you, we invite you to join us for this fun and accessible session consisting of a series of acting games and theater exercises that will introduce you to many common acting terms. No experience necessary, but pre-registration required.

Michael Levine is the founder and Producing Director of Acorn Productions, and the Artistic Director of the Naked Shakespeare series. Over the past twenty years, he has taught dozens of classes in acting, scene study, playwrighting, and of course Shakespeare. He has written several plays for Acorn, including The Dybbuks of Park Slope and The Legend of the Golem, as well as several children’s theater adaptations of fairy tales. He has directed several dozen productions for Acorn and taught acting and playwrighting at SMCC and the Stonecoast Writing Program. He is a graduate of M.I.T., where he studied playwrighting with A.R. Gurney, as well as acting with Kristen Linklater, and Shakespeare and Company and he is a certified secondary school English teacher.
